MISTRIAL in Eric Bodenweiser case
By Joe Irizarry and Mark Fowser

A judge declares a mistrial in the trial of Eric Bodenweiser on charges of sexual abuse that dated back more than two decades.

Judge Scott Bradley ruled Monday afternoon that it is a mistrial, in the second day of jury deliberations.

The alleged victim, now 37 years old, testified during the two-week trial of the former State Senate candidate.

Bodenweiser said nothing to reporters as he left the court house in Georgetown.

His defense attorney offered little reaction, while the prosecution now must decide whether it will seek a re-trial.

In the meantime, Bodenweiser is still subject to electronic monitoring until the state makes its decision.
