UPDATE: Pickup Trucks Collide in Milton

Delaware State Police are investigating a Sussex County crash involving a pair of pickup trucks.

The preliminary investigation has determined the incident occurred Sunday afternoon around 3:36 p.m. on Cave Neck Road, as a Nissan Frontier driven by 55-year-old Ray Richardson of Lewes was eastbound on Cave Neck Road and crossed over the center lane and struck a Toyota Tacoma with a trailer attached, driven by 28-year-old Elisandro Rodriguez-Perez of Millsboro as he was westbound on Cave Neck Road.

Police say Richardson was wearing his seat belt and was taken to Beebe Hospital with serious injuries; he was later flown to Christiana Hospital Trauma Center and is listed in critical but stable condition. Police say he will be charged with DUI, 2nd degree vehicular assault and several other traffic charges.

Rodriguez-Perez was also wearing his seat belt according to police; he sustained non-life threatening injuries and was taken to Beebe Hospital.
