One man is arrested after a tip leads to the discovery of a meth lab in Dover.

Around 4:40 p.m. Tuesday, police responded to the unit block of Wayne Drive in the Kent Acres development, in search of two people wanted for violation of probation and a tip about a possible meth lab operating out of the home.

When police arrived, they made contact with the homeowner who allowed a search of the property.

Before the search, police made contact with 36-year-old Gerald Shields, who was standing next to a shed in the backyard.

A search of the shed turned up equipment and component mixtures used in the manufacturing of meth, key ingredients used in making the drug, as well as 1.2 grams of Methamphetamine.

Shields was arrested, arraigned and committed to the James T. Vaughn Correctional Center on just over $10,000 secured bond.
