Greenwood man in critical conditon after being hit by Econoline van

A Greenwood man is in critical condition after being hit by a Ford Econoline van this (Wednesday) morning.

State Police the incident happened just before 3 a.m., as 32-year-old Aaron Marchincin of Seaford was was driving the van northbound on Route 13, just north of Adams Road approaching the limits of Greenwood. 47-year-old Antonio Lambert, was walking across the northbound lanes of Route 13 from west to east when the van struck him in the right travel lane, throwing him into the grass median.

Police say Lambert, who was wearing dark-colored clothing and NOT crossing in a cross walk or carrying a flashlight, was removed from the scene and was initially taken to Nanticoke Memorial Hospital before being airlifted to Christiana Medical Center.

Marchincin was properly restrained and uninjured in the crash.

Police say alcohol may be a factor on behalf of Lambert.
