Renowned soybean farmer to speak at Agronomy Session for Delaware Agriculture Week

Record-setting farmer, Dan Arkels, will speak at Agronomy Session for Delaware's Agriculture Week in Harrington.
A record-setting soybean and corn farmer will travel from Chicago to headline the 2017 Agronomy Session for Delaware's Agriculture Week in Harrington today (Thursday).

Dan Arkels, a renowned Illinois farmer known for harvesting over 100 bushels of soybeans in 2014, is set to speak at 10:40 this (Thursday) morning; his speech will focus on soybean yields and proper harvesting.

Arkel's appearance is sponsored by the Delaware Soybean Board. The Delaware Soybean Board consists of nine farmers-directors and the Secretary of Agriculture.

Delaware farmers plant around 180,000 acres of soybeans each year, which generate $60 million for the state annually. Delaware's agricultural industry contributes about $8 billion per year to the Delaware economy.
