Governor Markell will today (Tuesday) sign Senate Bill 90, relating to medical marijuana.

The Governor will be joined by primary bill sponsor State Senator Ernie Lopez, additional bill sponsor State Senator Margaret Rose Henry and others at 1:30 p.m. in his Legislative Hall Office in Dover to sign the bill.

The bill, which will be known as Rylie's Law, will add to the list of debilitating medical conditions for which a physician may supply a written certification for medical marijuana based-oils for minors under 18 years of age. It will provide for the availability of under 18 registry identification cards for medical marijuana oil, which does not contain enough "active ingredient" to get someone high, and will help in the treatment of illnesses such as intractable epilepsy, dystonia, and other enumerated conditions.
