A new candidate running for office in Rehoboth Beach says he's concerned about the direction the current Board of Commissioners is taking and what he calls "the growing divisiveness their policies encourage."

Richard "Rick" Perry registered as a candidate for the August 8th election prior to Monday's deadline.

He is a banking attorney and says he bought a retirement home in Rehoboth Beach in 2009, a time when he says it was "an inclusive and harmonious community."

Perry continues: "I have the sense today that the atmosphere is changing - and not in a good way."

Incumbents Patrick Gossett and Bill Sargent are also among the candidates in the Rehoboth election this August.
