AUDIO: Cape Henlopen School District voters approve referendum

UPDATE: Voters in Cape Henlopen School District approve property tax referendum...

Today is referendum day in the Cape Henlopen School District.

The district is proposing money from the referendum would be used to build a new 720 student elementary school on Route 24, purchase of the land for the school site additional classrooms at Beacon and Mariner Elementary Schools.

It would add six additional classrooms for the Sussex Consortium at Beacon Middle Schools.

The referendum would also include an increase in current expense taxes to address operating expenses associated opening a new school building. Superintendent Dr. Robert Fulton explains how much taxes would rise.

You will be able to vote on the referendum at Cape Henlopen High School, Mariner Middle School, and Rehoboth Elementary School. Voting hours will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
