I love when a plan comes together! Well, maybe not exactly a plan as much as a wish, a hope, dare I say … a dream. Nevertheless, here we are … and isn’t it wonderful?
Game 7 of the 2016 World Series is tonight and its history in the making. That’s not exaggeration, overstatement, bullsh** or hyperbole. Nope, it’s simply a statement of fact.
“But Matt” you say, “I don’t even like baseball.” First, know that you have a whiny voice. Second, and more importantly, pull your head out because it really smells bad up there and it’s hard to see.
It doesn’t matter whether you like baseball or not. What matters is that you witness, even if it’s only moments of a chosen inning, the fact that in your lifetime these two “also ran” organizations both FINALLY reached the pinnacle of their respective leagues (American & National) and are now locked in a sudden death winner take all contest! That’s the kind of drama your momma wouldn’t want you to save for her alone.
A 68 year long dry spell for the Indians and a 108 year long dry spell for the Cubs hangs in the balance. If either of them were Ron Jeremy, they would have blown their brains out by now.
Bear witness my friend, because you may be asked by generations to come what it was like, all the way back in 2016, to watch and experience the historical match-up between these two lovable losers. Man, you better have a better answer than “I don’t even like baseball.”
Let’s Play Ball!
